MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) — We bottomed out Friday morning when we slipped to -16 in Minneapolis and a nasty -46 at International Falls. It will still be cool this weekend, but not as bad.

Saturday will feature sunshine with highs in the single digits (above zero at least).

We will slip below zero once again Sunday morning before warming to 12 (above again) later in the day.

We have another Alberta clipper swinging through late on Sunday that will bring 1-3 inches of fluffy snow before it wraps up Monday as flurries.

Expect some delays on that drive back to work Monday morning.

I don’t usually do this, but last night Mike F was questioning why Canby’s school was 2 hrs late when your twin cities weather was fine….well, we had 40 MPH wind, we live out here on the “plains” and the snow was moving around. A young woman traveling from Ortonville to Marshall spent the night at the Canby Tower Motel, I heard another vehicle had to drive on the wrong side of the road coming into Canby coming home from Sioux Falls, so please don’t question late starts & closings when it comes to the safety of our children & bus drivers. County & township roads cannot be opened with a snap of the finger. Maybe Mike F should drive out here & see for himself what it’s like then he’ll change his tune.
