MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) — We waited until the last minute, but it looks like we have a baby January thaw coming our way.

It will not be here Wednesday (although a high near average is pretty warm when you look back at the month we’ve endured). Expect a good deal of cloud cover with a few peeks of sunshine.

On Thursday and Friday, the warm air moves in for a brief visit.

We should make it to the upper 20s Thursday with a shot at the 30s on Friday.

There will be a chance of precipitation both days, but it should be light with most passing over the Arrowhead and into western Wisconsin.

It will still cool down this weekend, but the latest data is keeping the core of the cold air away.
