Weather Blog: Wintry Winds

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- A strong low pressure tracked over northern Minnesota Friday night and Saturday morning.

Winds were very strong from about midnight to 7 a.m. Saturday, gusting over 40 mph in the Twin Cities and over 50 mph over parts of western Minnesota.

Winds will slowly taper off Saturday afternoon, and Sunday will feature much lighter winds.

A flurry is still possible Saturday, and temperatures will stay well below our average high of 38 degrees.

Temperatures rebound on Sunday. Set your clocks ahead one hour before you go to sleep Saturday night -- daylight saving time begins at 2 a.m. Sunday.

Our sunset on Sunday won't happen until 7:16 p.m.
