RIVER FALLS, Wis. (AP) — A western Wisconsin man has been arrested for stealing some petitions to recall state Sen. Sheila Harsdorf.

Police say the man swiped the petitions outside EconoFoods in River Falls and drove away last weekend. He apparently had second thoughts, drove back to the store and threw the petitions at the volunteers. They landed on the wet pavement.

Volunteers provided a description of the man and his vehicle and police tracked him down at his home. Officers handcuffed him and hauled him down to the police station.

The Superior Daily Telegram says the man told police he found the sight of the recall petitions disturbing. He was released after he was cited for disorderly conduct. The Republican senator is being targeted for a recall because of her vote for the budget repair bill.

I agree, the petitions are disturbing.

    1. american patriot says:

Daryl believes that DEMOCRACY is disturbing…most likely he also thinks that illegaly passing laws in the middle of the night or being a puppet of the Koch brothers are both ok

      1. Khan says:

First off get your facts straight. They broke no laws and they the Dems let town for weeks like a bunch of spoiled children who weren’t getting their way and they still crying like a bunch of spoiled children. Don’t cal yourself a patriot when your a socialist, thats not what this country was founded to be.

        1. RW says:

Don’t call yourself a patriot when you are fascist.

          1. Victim Du Jour says:

Benito Mussolini was a fascist, Hitler was a National Socialist and American Patriots beat them in a war.

No reason why Americans have to feel guilty about European history.

            The KKK was democrat

            1. jimmy says:

              The KKK was democrat

They may have WAS democrat, they are now Republican.

              1. Victim Du Jour says:

No evidence of it on congressional record.

The GOP doesn’t inherit the DNC’s anti-black voting record.

In my view both Liberals and Conservatives are misguided. Both views are based on one or two issues like abortion, same sex marriage, health care, etc. Whether you are Liberal or Conservative is often a result of your parent’s political views. Today’s politics have changed and so have the issues.

My political belief is that all politicians have an agenda and no longer represent the people that elect them. I believe that there is a class struggle between corporations and individuals.

Individual rights are no longer protected and our freedom is being trampled on by corporations. Corporations are in our politician’s pockets through very aggressive lobbying and campaign contributions. Corporations have access to our law makers and are writing the bills our politicians are passing.

Individuals are losing the battle. Individuals do not have a say in our politics. We can not beat corporations with the money and power they have.

          Game Over …

Whats disturbing is the fact that the elected Democratic officials ran away out of state. They knew htey would not get their way, tried taking their ball and running home to mommy to hide. Now htey have the audacity to try and recall teh republican officials who stayed, did nothing wrong, and are trying to recall them? That is very disturbing on many levels. Get a clue and wake up. You cannot run away from your responsibilities and the try and cry foul.

        1. Liz says:

Did nothing wrong? Psh. I hope they recall them all.

  2. american patriot says:

typical Tea Party activist….I am surpised that this fellow did not physically attack the volunteers. conservatives hava tendency of doing so

    1. teabagger says:

R U NutttSSS true he shouldn’t have taken the recall petitions but it’s the dirtbag libs who do the heavy handed beatdowns

    2. Khan says:

Really, was it the Tea party who threatened the live of the senators who vote for this? Didn’t think so. whe was the last tiem you saw Tea Party people crawling threw windows of a state capital to protest or doing millions of dollars in damage to a capital while protesting or walking out of their jobs in violation of their contracts? I find it amazing how the Tea Party is demonized when the unions and socialists in this country did all of the above in WI and a couple other states in the last month.

      1. RW says:

Threatening senators? Well, as a teacher, I have been threatened by your tea party members many times because of my ‘selfish attitude and disregard of the budget’. Take your Tea Party and Fascist attitude and head back to germany where you will be well received.

    3. Jeff Jennings says:

Your no Patriot my friend more like Socialist / Communist do I have you seeing any more red than you used to already

    4. Dems are from Mars says:

They are asking people to sign petitions to oust repub Sen the thing is some of the people that are signing them are from MN, and Ill

  3. tea truth says:

filthey slime liberals I don’t wanna pay for your benefits take a pay cut like the rest of us (How is that Obama peace thing going for you)

  4. Michael says:

conservatives have a tendency of physically attacking volunteers? I guess I can’t think of any instances, but I know I remember a certain Republican National Convention in St.Paul where liberals left the nuthouse. I believe they spit at people, rioted downtown and destroyed cars and property. This is a true definition of the pot calling the kettle black…

    1. B says:

Ummm, yeah, I live in St. Paul, and was here for the convention….I believe you may be exaggerating on the whole “riot and damages” thing. There were riots, but more of the problems were caused by ill-prepared “peace” officers than by actual demonstrators. And I never got spit at….I don’t believe peaceful protest counts as rioting, either.

      1. Real says:

I also lived in St Paul downtown actually during the convention and I remember clearly some radical leftists being arrested for throwing bricks and bottles through windows of downtown buisnesses. They also picked up several people on suuspicion of threatening behavior due to posts they found on left-wing fringe websites’ discussion boards discussing plots to set off explosives, and light fires and cause general hyjinx.

      2. Daryl says:

Okay, what is clouding your memory? Bottles were thrown threw windows, peaceful Convention attendees were harassed and spit on continually. How many of your “peaceful” protestors are just recently being brought to court, back in Minnesota, from other States?

        1. Victim Du Jour says:

I saw an apartment building get raided, and the people have been convicted for making explosives for the RNC.

    2. FromStPaul says:

Michael, get your info correct. Actually the violence was perpetuated by anarchists. The definiation of anarchists is: ‘”Anarchism is a political philosophy which considers the state undesirable, unnecessary, and harmful, and instead promotes a stateless society, or anarchy.” That hardly sounds like a “liberal” philosophy to me! In fact, if anyone is close, a conservative with their “limited government” would be much closer to an anarchist than a liberal would be.

  5. Jake says:

I think the guy should claim that he was actually engaging in “performance art” with the wet petitions being the piece de resistance. He should then state that he next plans to poop on a crucifix. Democrats would be forced to demand his release and exoneration.

  6. q says:

I live in Minnesota and I was asked to sign one to get rid of some Rep senators for WI. This is getting out of hand

    1. RW says:

q, when did that happen? When you where across the boarder in WI?

  7. Real says:

have the MIA demmes returned to work yet? Would anyone on the left be here chirping if this was a repub getting signatures to have the AWOL crew recalled and some stooge decided to do something like this.

  8. Dems are from Mars says:

    The Unions are so corrupt!

  9. gloria says:

Wow. Conservatives are so angry. They are such poor losers.

    1. Victim Du Jour says:

At least they aren’t making bombs like the extreme liberal fringe at the Republican National Convention.

  10. Michael says:

Gloria-poor losers? I actually laughed out loud when I read that. Were you living under a rock when the Democrats ran and hid in Illinois? Pull your head out…

  11. Dean says:

Aren’t there any centrists out there? Radicals on all sides always know the facts. At least the facts they want to know.
Of all the people getting rich off my Wi. dollar, teachers, firemen and police are at the bottom of the list.
When are the worthless politicians (all of them) going to take a pay cut? About 40% would save billions and give them some idea of what most of us have to live with.

  12. Murph says:

Thirteen colonies and one vote each! What the Sam Hill happened to make things so crowded in state houses and Washington? Reverse that trend and improved government will result.Sack them all and start over.Do you want ONE GOOD PERSON or bus loads of nincompoops like we have now! Speak up! There IS a solution!
