Children's Hospitals Hosting Vaccinations Forum
ST. PAUL, Minn. (AP) -- Children's Hospitals and Clinics of Minnesota is partnering with U.S. Rep. Betty McCollum on a forum about childhood vaccinations.
Officials with Children's say a panel of experts representing Minnesota families -- as well as national, state, non-profit and private health organizations -- will lead a discussion Wednesday on the importance of childhood vaccinations and the need to dispel myths and misperceptions. They say the goal is to generate a statewide call to action among parents, health care providers and communities.
The Minnesota Vaccination Awareness Forum runs from 9 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. at the St. Paul campus of Children's Hospitals and Clinics of Minnesota.
Minnesota has recorded 21 confirmed cases of measles since February, the state's worst outbreak in years. At least 15 of the victims were unvaccinated children.
