Minn. Guard To Help With South Dakota Flood Fight

ST. PAUL, Minn. (AP) -- The Minnesota National Guard is sending two helicopters and 21 soldiers to help with South Dakota's flood fight.

Guard spokesman Lt. Kevin Olson says two UH60 Blackhawk helicopters were being sent Monday to South Dakota.

Olson says the helicopters initially will report to Pierre, S.D.

Minnesota Gov. Mark Dayton signed an emergency executive order on Monday authorizing Minnesota's adjutant general to order any military personnel or equipment needed to help South Dakota battle spring floods.

South Dakota requested the help Sunday.
