Apparent Body Found In Minn. Search For Canoeist

GRAND MARAIS, Minn. (AP) -- Searchers looking for a missing 23-year-old Wisconsin man have found an apparent body near where he was last seen in the Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness in northern Minnesota.

Cook County Sheriff Mark Falk says sonar detected a body's image Sunday. But Falk says the search is suspended until Tuesday, when St. Louis County can bring in a remote-controlled underwater vehicle to retrieve the body.

Ty Sitter of Janesville, Wis., hasn't been seen since Thursday, when he left his father and brother at their campsite on Swan Lake to go fishing near Grand Marais. When he didn't return, they found his canoe upright and unoccupied, with about 4 inches of water in it. His life jacket, tackle box and fishing net were there but his fishing pole was missing.
