Wisconsin Hosts Lumberjack World Championships

HAYWARD, Wis. (AP) -- More than 100 competitors are expected to gather in northern Wisconsin for the Lumberjack World Championships this weekend.

The event in Hayward has more than 20 competitions and world records in events like men's and women's logrolling, chopping and the pole climb.

The competitors are vying for more than $50,000 in prize money -- one of the largest purses for lumberjack competition in the world.

The event has been featured on all major network television stations, ESPN, and The Tonight Show with Jay Leno.

It starts Friday and runs through Sunday.
