MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) — First-class stamp prices jumped up a penny on Monday.

The U.S. Postal Service brought up the price to $0.45 — its first jump up in two and a half years.

The cost to mail a postcard went up by three cents to $0.32.

This is the seventh time in the past 10 years that the price has gone up to mail a letter.

The USPS said they hope the higher price will help raise nearly $900 million for the struggling agency.
