MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) — A 43-year-old Spooner, Wis. man was arrested Wednesday morning for allegedly driving under the influence — his seventh offense.

James E. Link was arrested around 10:20 a.m. Wednesday, after the Wisconsin State Patrol received a call about a vehicle in the ditch on Interstate 94 east, near milepost 71.5.

Troopers responded to the scene and requested an ambulance.

Link was placed under arrest and transported by ambulance to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

A repeat of a repeat of the repeat, and he will repeat when he gets out of the slammer next month and probably kill your kid, or wife or husband…..lock these ppl up and throw away the key………They just don’t get it….

    1. @ Rocky says:

Rocky, be real, it’s a disease. They can’t help themselves. This is MN (and WI), we should just hug them and fix it. And, oh yeah, use our tax dollars to pay for that hug, and all the havoc they wreak.

Disease my foot! Thats nothing but an excuse to kill someone. Maybe it will be you next?

  3. G Dog says:

He needs 8 more to match the Wisconsin resident in last week’s news.

  4. Cheers says:

Hundreds of thousands of people drink and drive everyday, if you do the math your odds of being killed by one are quite slim, I got next round.

Would you feel the same if your child or other family member was killed by a drunk driver. How sad, to think of this as a joke.

  5. Mayhem says:

I think I read somewhere that its a requirement in WI that at least 1 family member has to have at least 10 DUI’s before the age of 45.

I am from up there, the Link family practically own the near by town. Jack Link’s beef jerkey is one of many businesses they have. I am sure they grew up with the sense of entitlement”. He needs help and hopefully will get it before he kills someone.

I wish they would crack down on drinking, the way they do on smoking. Second hand smoke, second hand booze. They both kill Ya’.

I’m not so sure this is the same Link, as the Jerky Links.

    1. ez4u2c says:

From such a small area as Spooner I am sure he is related to Jerky Links. Maybe not direct but a nephew or something. With the name Link he is related some how. Minong were the Jerky plant is only 20 miles a way. Either way, he needs to be off the roads before killing someone.

      1. jackpinesavage says:

I’ve worked at the Jerky Links for over ten years now, never heard of James before. There are two or three Link families in the area, no relation. One even worked there, no relation. Not that it makes any difference in this case.

I agree he and others need to be taken off the roads for good. WI. has some very lax DUI laws.
