Frank Vascellaro and his mother Rosalie head to the kitchen to cook up a batch of shortbread cookies to use at any party. Check out the recipe below.

1 cup of butter
½ cup powdered sugar
1½ cups flour
Maraschino cherries

Make sure the butter sits out and is softened beforehand.  In a mixing bowl, add powdered sugar and flour to softened butter.  My mother says you need to mix all the ingredients together for 20-minutes. I think that’s crazy and find they blend together very well after about five minutes.

After the ingredients are well blended, use a teaspoon to scoop out dough and place on cookie sheet. Cut the cherries into quarter size pieces and place on top of each cookie. Bake at 300 for 20 minutes. Enjoy.
