Central Corridor Reaches The Halfway Mark
ST. PAUL (WCCO) -- The Central Corridor light rail project has reached a milestone. The 11-mile line connecting the downtowns of St. Paul and Minneapolis is now 50 percent complete.
"The Central Corridor LRT project has reached the halfway mark for construction," said spokeswoman Laura Baenen. "The project remains on schedule yet for opening in 2014 and is on budget."
Baenen says the project should be 75 percent done by year's end.
As the line progresses, there are more temporary closings, including Huron Boulevard between University and Washington Avenues. That closing will continue through August.
