Daycare Provider Found Not Guilty In Child's Death

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – A 42-year-old daycare provider who was charged in the death of an 8-month-old child was found not guilty Thursday, according to her attorney.

Defense attorney Earl Gray said a jury found Salli Deen Schultz, of Lindstrom, not guilty of two counts: second-degree murder and first-degree manslaughter.

The trial lasted for about two weeks, and the jury deliberated for about three hours, Gray said.

Schultz faced charges after the death of Brooke Elizabeth Kowarsch.
