Robber Pulled Gun On A Baby

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- A Twin Cities mother says a gunman pointed his weapon at her baby and threatened to kill them.

"He said, 'Give me all your money, or I'll kill your baby,'" recalled the child's mother, who didn't want to be identified.

She fears that the man will come back to hurt her family.

The robbery happened last Friday night, and St. Paul Police officers believe it's likely connected to several others incidents.

Alesandra, who is just 12 weeks old, wasn't hurt, but her mother was clearly shaken up.

"I thank God that she's still here," the mother said. "And we're still here."

The family had just gotten home from work. An armed man, holding a silver gun, walked up to their truck and demanded money from Alesandra's father.

"He pointed the gun at him first," the mother said.

Alesandra's mother was holding her.

"Then he cocked the gun, and he pointed it at my baby," she said. "And I just held on tight to her and said, 'Please, God. Don't let anything happen to any of us, especially her.'"

The man walked away with $1,400 -- Alesandra's father had just cashed his paycheck.

Four people got robbed the same night in the same way, within 15 minutes of each other. The man walked up, demanded cash and pointed a silver gun at them.

In one case, St. Paul Police say he got away with $200 dollars. In another case, he only got away with a can of beer.

St. Paul Police need help to find the man. He is described as a black male, about 6-feet tall with a slim to medium build. Police said he was wearing a gray or navy hoodie and had a goatee or beard.

Alesandra's mother cried while talking about the robbery.

"It brought me closer to her, to actually hold on to every moment that I have with her, because you never know when it can be taken," she said.
