MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) — Eagan police say they’re investigating the death of a 10-week-old boy who was sleeping in the same bed as his drunken grandmother one week ago.

A search warrant says when police arrived at the grandmother’s home, they suspected she had been drinking alcohol. Court documents say the 46-year-old had bloodshot eyes and fell asleep while talking to investigators.

A preliminary breath test showed a blood-alcohol level of 0.18 percent, more than twice the legal limit for driving. She acknowledged to investigators she’d been drinking the previous night.

According to the Pioneer Press, Eagan police said they’re gathering more information before they send the case to prosecutors for possible charges.
