Severe Weather Shuts Down WE Fest Friday Night
DETROIT LAKES, Minn. (WCCO) -- Friday night brought some scary moments for country music fans up north.
Severe thunderstorms rolled through Detroit Lakes last night, forcing organizers to evacuate thousands of people from WE Fest, one of the largest country music concerts in the U.S.
The "Concert Bowl" was emptied. Stage crews also evacuated to get away from electronics because of the excess of lightning in the area.
Strong winds ripped apart banners and even blew apart a small stage.
