EDINA, Minn. (WCCO) — How does Minnesota’s Teacher of the Year get ready for the new term?

But Roehl, who teaches 10th grade English at Edina High School, puts the emphasis on students meeting students.
“Having students get to know each other actually helps get to know each other as learners. Give them tasks that they have to complete together. Then, they rely on each other,” she said.READ MORE: Red Flag Warning In Effect For Northern Minnesota Counties

Roehl is the current Teacher of the Year, an honor bestowed by the teachers’ union, Education Minnesota.
