Attorney Weighs In On Senser Appeal Process

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- With Amy Senser's appeal process underway, whether or not she'll be released from prison later this week is still unknown.

But did that outburst on Monday from her husband, former Minnesota Viking Joe Senser, hurt her chances of appeal?

"Oh no, I don't think it has any effect at all," defense attorney Joe Friedberg said. "I think it just hurts. He and his wife's public image, such that it is."

Joe Senser lashed out at Hennepin County Attorney Michael Freeman on Monday, claiming that Freeman painted an untrue picture of Amy Senser.

Friedberg disagrees.

"I think Freeman made one remark early on, that we look to give the same type of justice in this county to wealthy people as we do to poor people," he said. "That was pretty subdued and I think he only did it once."

Friedberg said the two were clearly not prepared to weather the legal system, and he understands Joe's anger.
