1 Dies In Clay County After Car Goes In Water

ROLLAG, Minn. (AP) — One person is dead in northwestern Minnesota after a vehicle went off the roadway and into open water.

The Minnesota State Patrol says the accident happened in Clay County, on Highway 32 about two miles north of Rollag.

The State Patrol says there were two people in the vehicle when it left the roadway at about 5:30 p.m. Friday and went into the water. One of those occupants drowned.

Sgt. Jesse Grabow says there were patches of ice and packed snow on the roadway at the time, but authorities are investigating if weather was a factor. He says it was not snowing at the time of the crash.

Authorities plan to release more information when it becomes available.
