Pinnacle Airlines Leaves Memphis For Minnesota

MINNEAPOLIS (AP) — Pinnacle Airlines says it will move its headquarters to Minneapolis from Memphis, Tenn., by May.

The company employs about 500 people at its main office.

Pinnacle has been reorganizing under bankruptcy protection since last year. When it emerges, it will become part of Delta Air Lines Inc. Pinnacle plans to move into space that Delta has rented but isn't using at Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport.

Pinnacle expects to fly 81 regional jets for Delta.

The regional airline business has been going through a major shakeout as rising fuel prices make some smaller jets unprofitable. And big airlines like Delta have been putting pressure on the regionals to cut costs.
