Man's Death After Fight On Lake Street Ruled A Homicide

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- The Minneapolis Police Department is investigating the March 4 death of a 45-year-old man as a homicide.

The Hennepin County Medical Examiner's Office determined the manner of the man's death was a homicide, which prompted the investigation into the circumstances surrounding his death.

Officers responded to the scene around 1 p.m. on March 4, after receiving a report of a fight outside a restaurant in the 2700 block of East Lake Street. When officers arrived, they found a man who was complaining of a pre-existing medical condition, after being involved in the fight.

The other person involved in the fight had left the area and the victim told police he didn't want any help.

The man was taken to Hennepin County Medical Center by ambulance. Police were later notified that the man had died later that day.
