UAA Names 4 Finalists For Hockey Coaching Job

ANCHORAGE, Alaska (AP) — The University of Alaska Anchorage has named four finalists for its vacant head men's hockey coach position.

The Anchorage Daily News reports the finalists include two assistant coaches at Division I programs and two men who are currently head coaches at Division III schools.

The finalists include Air Force associate head coach Mike Corbett and Damon Whitten, an assistant at Michigan Tech. The other two finalists are Chris Brown, the head coach at Augsburg College in Minnesota, and Gary Heenan, the head coach at Utica College in New York.

Both Brown and Whitten are former UAA assistant coaches.

The university will conduct both phone and in-person interviews with each candidate. As part of the latter process, forums will be held so the public can meet the candidates.
