MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) — Starting Friday, each route the light rail takes is getting a new name.

The Hiawatha Light Rail Line will now be called the Metro Blue Line.
Metro Transit workers unveiled the new signs at the 46th Street Station, and the trains will have three cars to help with the increase of passengers.READ MORE: Woman Critically Injured In Minneapolis Shooting
Some of the other lines are getting new names, too.
The Green Line will run between downtown St. Paul and downtown Minneapolis when it begins service next year.

In 2018, the Orange Line will run along 35W.
