Thursday, Friday Events Could Make Parking Tight In Mpls.

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- The City of Minneapolis is warning Twin Cities residents and visitors that the downtown area could be extra busy on Thursday and Friday evenings over concurrent concerts and Twins games.

The Minnesota Twins are scheduled to host the Milwaukee Brewers at 7:10 p.m. Thursday and the Seattle Mariners at 7:10 p.m. on Friday, with the gates opening at Target Field at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday and 5 p.m. on Friday.

Meanwhile, the Target Center will be hosting back-to-back concerts on the same days. The "Kings of the Mic" tour will be performing at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, featuring LL Cool J, Ice Cube, Public Enemy and De La Soul.

On Friday, The Lumineers are scheduled to perform at 7:30 p.m. Doors will open for both concerts at 6:30 p.m.

The city informed visitors to the downtown area that they should consider planning ahead for the rush, to either opt for mass transit alternatives, plan to arrive early or stay late, or to park and walk to your event.
