MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) — Summer is supposed to be a fun, carefree time of year, but it doesn’t always turn out that way.

Maintaining your schedule, maintaining your kids’ schedules, and even planning a family vacation can be stressful.

Edward Moody shared some tips on keeping your mind and body relaxed this time of year, and spoke with Shelli Smith of Massage Envy Spa.

Smith said that even “staycations” should start out with a solid plan. She suggested starting the days out with a yoga session or a brisk walk around a lake. Always bring a water bottle and don’t neglect your skin.

“Hydration and moisturizing are the keys to summer,” Smith said.

When it comes to de-stressing with a massage, Smith said you’ll want to make sure to drink plenty of fluids the day of the massage, but stop a few hours beforehand. Also, wear loose clothing and arrive early.
