Authorities: Teen Injured In Duck Hunting Accident

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- A Sauk Centre teenager was taken to the hospital after being shot in the back by another teen in a duck hunting accident Sunday afternoon, according to the Stearns County Sheriff's Office.

At around 3 p.m., the Sheriff's Office received a report from CentraCare Hospital of a child with a gunshot wound.

The resulting investigation revealed that the 15-year-old boy was accidentally shot by another 15-year-old boy, also of Sauk Centre, in the same hunting party. The part was duck hunting on the Sauk River in Getty Township when the shooting occurred, the Sheriff's Office said.

The family took the victim to the hospital where he was treated for non-life threatening injuries to his back.
