Minn. Panel Gets Rundown On Vikings Lease

ST. PAUL, Minn. (AP) — A Minnesota legislative panel formed to keep tabs on the Vikings stadium deal is meeting to go over a recently signed lease and the development agreement.

The Legislative Commission on Minnesota Sports Facilities lacks power to alter the agreements. They were executed a few weeks ago by the team and the managers of the yet-built stadium.

Thursday's meeting will give lawmakers a platform to highlight concerns or voice support for the direction of the $975 million project. The public is hugely invested in the deal, with taxpayers paying more than half and fans likely to foot a share as well.

The lease binds the team to 30 years. The development agreement includes the sale of seat licenses to fans who want the right to buy a season ticket.
