Natalie Nyhus' Favorite Family Recipe For Thanksgiving

All week the WCCO Morning Show is sharing its favorite family recipes in time for your Thanksgiving. Today, Natalie Nyhus challenges Jason DeRusha's stuffing recipe with her own family favorite.

Kane Stuffing

Ingredients
1 Full stalk Celery (Heart)
1 Yellow Onion
1 bag stuffing mix/ (Pepperidge Farm)
Chicken Stock
Stick of Butter
¾ cup milk
Salt
Pepper
Poultry Seasoning
Slice celery
Dice onion

Directions
Sauté Onion add celery 5 minutes mixing. Add ¼ cup of stock, stirring for 6-8 minutes.

Add stick of butter. Season with salt , pepper and poultry to taste. Stir/cook another 5 minutes.

Fill large mixing bowl with stuffing mix and pour panned ingredients and knead with hands until fully mixed, along the way may require adding more stock and milk for moisture.

Cook in bird or fill a large 9x11 pan, cover and bake at 350 degrees for 45 minutes.

Kane Carrot Soufflé

Day before or earlier in day: Cook and chill 3 pounds of carrots.

Ingredients
1 1/2 cups butter, softened.
6 large eggs
1/2 cup flour
T Baking Powder
3 cups sugar
1/4 tsp. cinnamon

Directions
Mix together all ingredients until smooth (you can use a food processor).

Put in greased soufflé dish. Bake 1 hour at 350 degrees until set and browned.

Serve immediately. Serves 12.
