State GOP's Deputy Chair Resigning For House Bid
WOODBURY, Minn. (AP) -- The deputy chairwoman of the Minnesota Republican Party is stepping down to devote herself full time to her state House campaign.
Kelly Fenton says Monday that she'll stay with the state GOP through the end of the year. Fenton announced last month that she's running to fill an open state House seat in the St. Paul suburb of Woodbury.
Fenton, a former schoolteacher, has been the Republican Party's deputy chair since 2011.
The Woodbury seat is being vacated by Republican Rep. Andrea Kieffer. Democrat Kay Hendrickson is also running.
