Firefighter Hurt Battling Blaze In St. Paul

ST. PAUL, Minn. (WCCO) – Authorities said one firefighter suffered a hand injury while battling a residential fire in St. Paul Tuesday morning.

Crews responded to the 1400 block of Edmund Avenue on a report of a fire in a duplex. When authorities arrived, the blaze was active inside the residence and had spread to the attic. Fire officials didn't say if anyone was inside the duplex at the time of the fire.

The extent of the hand injury that the firefighter suffered is unknown and crews were still at the scene at about 9:30 a.m. checking for hot spots. The cause of the fire is under investigation as crews examine the extent of the damage.
