MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) — The Alexandria Police Department is investigating after the Douglas County Animal Hospital was broken into Tuesday morning.

Police say at 8 a.m., police officers responded to the burglary at the animal hospital, located on 3901 State Highway 29 South in Alexandria.

According to police, the suspect or suspects gained entry by force through a locked door and an undisclosed quantity of veterinary medication was later reported missing.

Now, Alexandria Police are following up on leads to determine if the burglary is related to other crimes in Alexandria and surrounding communities.
