MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – The Hill-Murray girls hockey team made the most of its trip to Xcel Energy Center last week, capping its season off with a Class AA state title.

Sarah Bobrowski, one of the leaders of the Pioneers, has been a part of that program that has not just flourished, it finished on top. Hill-Murray capped of a banner year by getting a banner, winning a state championship two weeks ago. She’s the ASPIRE Athlete of the Week for Feb. 28, 2014.

“It’s awesome. It was a dream just to get to the state tournament and to be in the championship game alone was amazing,” said Bobrowski. “To win it, it’s unbelievable. It doesn’t feel real.”

She’ll leave Hill-Murray High School as an athlete who made a commitment to the sport and with many things to look fondly back on later.

“Probably all the friends and memories, I had great teammates. Even the teachers and the administration here, they’re awesome, they’re great supporters,” Bobrowski said. “There’s honestly so many memories and great friends were made and the coaches were awesome. It’s unbelievable. It’s a great way to finish the senior year out, I can’t complain.”

Bobrowski finished the Class AA State Tournament with a goal and an assist in the state championship game.
