Computer Hackers Target Carlson Hotel In Minnetonka

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – Minnetonka-based Carlson Hotel's rewards points system, called Club Carlson Gold Points, has been compromised by computer hackers.

According to hotel officials, about $35,000 worth of awards from over 650 customers has been stolen.

The company first noticed irregular transactions on club member accounts 12 days ago.

Company officials said once they noticed the transactions they acted immediately to freeze those accounts.

All of the members who have been affected have been contacted and their stolen rewards have been replaced.

The company is urging members who have a Club Carlson account to check their balance and change their password.

Club member accounts did not include financial information. Accounts only included member addresses and email information, according to company officials.

The theft is still under investigation.
