MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) — A man is in critical condition after a fight broke out at a Perkins restaurant in Hastings, Minn., according to authorities.

Police say officers responded to the Perkins at 1206 Vermillion St. around 3:04 a.m. Friday on a disturbance call. As officers approached the scene, they were told the fight moved outside to the north parking lot.

Authorities found a male victim on the ground and unresponsive. Paramedics provided first aid and the victim was immediately transported to United Hospital in St. Paul.

He remains in critical condition.

Police say a suspect was identified at the scene and arrested. He has been identified as 27-year-old James Nathan Phenix, of West Plains, MO.

He was booked into the Dakota County Jail for possible assault charges.
