Sheriff Releases New Hoffman Photo, Warns Of Red-Dyed Money

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- The Ramsey County Sheriff's Office is releasing an updated wanted poster for fugitive Lyle "Ty" Hoffman.

The poster includes a new photo taken on Labor Day at a metro area big-box retail store.

The 44-year-old is charged with the murder of his former boyfriend and business partner, Boston-Scientific-executive Kelly Phillips.

Hoffman's also suspected of robbing a TCF Bank in Blaine last Sunday. The money Hoffman allegedly stole included a security dye pack.

The sheriff's office wants citizens to report any money they've recently received that's colored with bright-red dye.

Earlier this week, search crews combed the area around Mystic Lake Casino in Prior Lake.

They were tracking reports that Hoffman had been spotted inside the casino and outside near the woods.

There is a $25,000 reward for information leading to his arrest.

Hoffman is considered armed and dangerous. Anyone with information is urged to contact Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS. Tipsters can remain anonymous.
