Sheriff: 1 Killed In Chippewa County Hayride Accident
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – One person died Saturday night in an accident on a hayride in western Minnesota, according to the Chippewa County Sheriff's Office.
Authorities were called to a report of a personal injury accident on 120th Avenue, about a half mile south of Highway 40 in Woods Township at about 7:46 p.m. When officers arrived, an investigation showed a group of people were out on a hayride for a birthday party.
A tractor was pulling two hay racks that were joined together when a person tried to make it from the first hay rack to the second. Authorities said the person fell between the two hay racks and was run over by the second hay rack.
The victim was pronounced dead at the scene. The accident is still under investigation, and the victim has not been identified.
