MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) — It’s the first day of October, which means Halloween is now just around the corner. Don’t have a costume idea yet? Not to worry — a recent ranking just released may be able to help.

Not much of a surprise, but they say to expect to see a lot of Elsas walking around, with the popularity of Disney’s “Frozen.”
The National Retail Federation’s annual Halloween costume survey found an estimated 2.6 million children plan to dress up as a “Frozen” character.
Another costume that used to be popular that’s making a comeback — the Ninja Turtles. They estimate close to two million kids will be one of those characters.

That’s the No. 1 kids costume, followed by an animal of some kind, then Spiderman.
Frozen is fourth and Ninja Turtles are seventh, behind action heroes and Batman characters.
The survey found 75 million adults will dress up, and stick to fairly traditional costumes.
Witch is No. 1, followed by an animal at No. 2 then Batman, a pirate and a zombie.

The top costumes for pets are pumpkin, hot dog, devil, bumble bee and a cat.
