McFadden Releases Plan For Legislative Action
ST. PAUL, Minn. (AP) — Republican Senate candidate Mike McFadden is making several promises for legislative action if he defeats Sen. Al Franken.
McFadden vows to help write a balanced budget amendment — and a bill that would halt lawmaker pay if Congress doesn't pass a budget — within his first 100 days in office.
The first-time candidate also says he would host four town hall meetings a year and visit Minnesota's 87 counties annually.
McFadden says Franken hasn't been accessible or transparent enough to Minnesotans. He unveiled his "Contract with Minnesota" in St. Paul Wednesday, and says he won't seek re-election if he doesn't live up to it.
Democrats have criticized McFadden for lacking specific policy positions. He recently released a plan to scrap and replace President Barack Obama's health care law.
