Anonymous Threat Prompts Extra Law Enforcement At UW-River Falls

RIVER FALLS, Wis. (AP) -- University of Wisconsin-River Falls police say there's an increased law enforcement presence on campus following an anonymous threat.

A campus safety alert says the written communication stated "Beware the Ides of October, the time is night and the bullets will fly." The Ides correspond with Oct. 15.

University spokesman Blake Fry said Wednesday classes are being held as scheduled, although faculty members have the option to cancel.

He says access to the residence halls has been altered so students can only enter their own dorms. Their key cards won't work at other residence halls on campus.

Fry says there have been no reports of any irregularities on campus. He says the investigation into the threat is ongoing.
