MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) — We’ve heard plenty of studies already about soda and how it’s harmful to our health.

But that isn’t keeping many Americans from drinking it.

So, researchers are now looking at a new way to drive home the facts. Doctors at Johns Hopkins University say most people don’t understand what the 250 calories in a 12-ounce can of soda means.

The school suggests giving people a comparison.

In their study, they posted signs next to sodas that said how many calories were in each and also how many miles of walking would be needed to burn that off.

After seeing that, more people opted to buy a smaller sized soda or just go with water.
