MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – In his first season, University of Minnesota basketball coach Richard Pitino found out right away you can make a lot of friends in the Twin Cities by winning.
Pitino put together a roster in his first season of many unknown players and finished with a school-record 25 wins as Minnesota went onto win the NIT after just missing the NCAA Tournament. Now in his second year, he’s more comfortable in the Twin Cities, with his program and the players he’s bringing in to match his style.
And he’s not afraid to have a little fun with his team, whether it’s in practice or with the local media. Get to know Pitino from the questions that he was asked at the team’s recent Media Day.
