Edina Police Impersonator Running Phone Scam

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) - Edina Police say someone who's trying to make some quick cash is pretending to be from their department.

There have been two reports of people getting calls, and the police department's number shows up on caller ID.

The caller claims there's a warrant for the homeowner's arrest.

In order to take care of it, they should send the caller money.

Police say they'd never make that type of call, and people should never give out their personal information over the phone.
