MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) — A 20-year-old Bloomington woman has died after being found unconscious in Bemidji Wednesday morning.

Police say Sandra Lommen was found in a wooded area near 10th Street Northwest and Rice Avenue at about 8:30 a.m. Emergency crews say she showed signs of hypothermia and intoxication.

She passed away Wednesday afternoon at Sanford Medical Center.

Lommen was a freshman at Bemidji State University, where she was studying nursing.

On Wednesday evening, BSU President Richard Hanson released a statement to the campus community about Lommen’s death.
