Bell Ringing Marathon Raises $64K For Salvation Army

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO)  - Two men powered through a 30-hour marathon to raise thousands of dollars for the Salvation Army.

As they have for the last four years, Jeremy Lilyquist and Derek Gilbert stood outside for 30 hours straight, filling their red kettles.

They were at the County Market in Hudson, Wisconsin, from Thursday into Friday.

Once they were done, their grand total was nearly $64,000. Their goal was $60,000.

The money collected, of course, goes to help pay rent, utilities and medical assistance to people in need.
