MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) — A 19-year-old woman was not injured after driving off a cliff and crashing into the icy water roughly 30 feet below.

The incident happened Saturday night in Wykoff, Minnesota.

The Fillmore County Sheriff’s Department received a call that an SUV went off County Road 5 and landed in the Root River on its wheels.

The vehicle ended up breaking through the ice.

Emergency crews rescued the driver, who was not immediately identified, from the water. She was checked out by paramedics, but didn’t have any injuries.

The Sheriff’s Department is looking into why she went off the road.
