MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – An early morning fire destroyed part of a building in downtown Winona Friday.

According to the Winona Fire Chief, crews responded to a call around 12:30 a.m. of a fire in the 150 block of East 3rd Street.

The fire reportedly broke out in the second floor.

Crews tried to fight the fire from inside the building, but eventually had to pull out.

The building’s roof was almost entirely destroyed.

Officials said several apartments, and the Mason Jar Bar that is housed in the building, are a total loss.
