MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) — Saturday night is the finals of the Be Heard Minnesota Youth Poetry Slam.

Six poets will be chosen to represent the state in the international Brave New Voices Youth Poetry Slam Festival this July in Atlanta.

During that week-long celebration, more than 500 youth from across the globe will share their poetry together.

The Youth Poetry Slam finals will be held at the Capri Theater in Minneapolis at 6 p.m.

Tickets are $5, and students get in for $3.
