Suspect In St. Croix River Stabbing Turns Himself In

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) - The man suspected of stabbing and killing a father of five during a fishing excursion has turned himself in.

Peter Kelly, 34, of St. Croix Falls, Wis., was stabbed to death Tuesday after he and his fishing buddy got into an argument with another group on the Minnesota side of the St. Croix River. Kelly was a well-known youth wrestling coach in the community.

The suspect, accompanied by his attorney, turned himself into the Polk County Sheriff's Office in Balsam Lake, Wisconsin.

Police said the other men who were with the suspect during the stabbing have also been interviewed.

The suspect's name is expected to be released on Friday.
