MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) — A search warrant revealed new details in the death of Barway Collins.

According to the document, a knife was found near Collins’ body, which was recovered from the Mississippi River on April 11.

Authorities searched the apartment of Pierre Collins, Barway’s father, two days later.

Among the items they took were several knives, two plastic air-conditioner covers with duct tape on them and a red towel with plant material on it.

Pierre Collins is charged with second-degree murder in his son’s death.

Barway’s funeral is planned for Saturday, but a group is trying to halt the ceremony and burial until his mother arrives from Liberia.
