Stillwater Woman's Disappearance Remains Under Investigation

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- Authorities are asking for the public's assistance to find a woman from western Wisconsin living in Stillwater who has been missing for more than two days.

Abbey Russell, 24, was last seen at her house around midnight Saturday, near the intersection of Poplar Street and Highway 95. She's described as 5-feet-7-inches tall, 150 pounds with shoulder-length brown hair and green eyes. She was reported missing about two hours later. Stillwater police said they aren't doing searches for Russell until they can get more leads in connection with her disappearance.

Authorities say it is out of character for Russell to not be in contact with her family or friends, and authorities are concerned for her welfare.

She has a large tattoo of flowers and feathers that wraps around her upper right arm and down to her elbow. She also has a tattoo of a single black flower on her left forearm and written words under her left armpit. She also has a pierced nose and pierced ears. It is not known what she is wearing.

Authorities said foul play is not suspected and that alcohol could be a factor. Crews searched the St. Croix River on Sunday, but no clues were found. They are no longer searching the St. Croix River.

Anyone with information on her whereabouts should call Stillwater Police at (651) 351-4900.
